Rising Sea Levels
Made in partnership with New Zealand Starry Garden
It is the increase in volume of water in oceans and seas, therefore making sea levels rise. Since 1880, global sea levels have risen 8-9 inches (21-24 cm). The main causes of water level rises are from meltwater from glaciers and ice sheets, as well as thermal expansion of sea water as it warms.
